The Sultanate has an abundance of natural resources such as solar energy, wind energy and oil, which can be utilized to produce electricity and contribute in the GDP. Oman continuously works on developing the infrastructure in the energy sector, which makes it attractive to investors and one of the leading business and investment destinations in the GCC region. Moreover, energy sector and other non-oil sectors are expected to be the most contributing sectors to the national economy.
Initiatives and projects of the energy sector were categorized into three main areas, natural gas management, electricity and renewable energy resources, governance of energy sector (gas and electricity).
